Here’s a slideshow of my images from Bhutan. It was a short trip, so there aren’t all that many – scroll further down to see them displayed in Mosaic form.
I travelled to Bhutan in November 2018 on a short trip which included a visit to the Gangtey monastery, where they hold a festival every year to celebrate the return of the Black-Necked Crane to the valley from its breeding grounds in Tibet.
I’d always been intrigued by Bhutan – its reputation as a remote Himalayan Buddhist kingdom and its very strong environmental policies along with its unique culture make it a special destination and I wanted to see it for myself.
I didn’t have long there, and the need to follow a fixed itinerary meant I had little time to explore beyond the standard tourist sites, but here are a few of the images I made of the land and the festival. I hope you like them!
